Below are a list of general information rules for each USSSA Fastpitch tournament hosted by Lori Strode. This information will apply to the majority of tournaments. For specific information on your tournament, please refer to the tournament notes provided in the tournament announcement under the Event Feed tab of your tournament. A copy of tournament rules and information, Pool Schedule, Bracket and maps of the complex, for your specific tournament, will be emailed to your coach and players, posted on our Facebook Page, our webpage and the USSSA tournament site NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY before your tournament. Please look them over and share with your parents and spectators.

USSSA rules will apply. All teams must be USSSA sanctioned. Copies of birth certificates must be available for inspection. Team managers or representatives are to check in at least thirty minutes prior to the start of their first game. Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time.
Divisions and/or classes may be combined if there are not enough teams to fill up a division. Example 9U and 10U or 12A and 12B
Pool games will be 7 innings or 65 minute -Finish the Inning and can end in a tie. Bracket Play will be 75 minute – Finish the Inning – International Tie Breaker.
Teams can bat their roster in pool play. Teams will have the option to EITHER bat up to 11 in bracket play (9 plus 2 APs or DP/Flex) OR bat the entire roster (all players present). The coach will inform the umpire at the plate meeting if the intent is to bat the roster. Additional Players will be designated as APs on the lineup card. If using a FLEX, they will be annotated in the last position on your lineup card.
Courtesy Runners can be used at every at bat for the Pitcher and Catcher
Courtesy Runners are not tied to a player (pitcher or catcher)
Courtesy Runners must be a substitute first. If the team doesn't have a substitute then the runner will be the last completed at bat
The same Courtesy Runner cannot be used for both the pitcher and the catcher in the same half inning
Home team will be the official scorekeeper. Home team will be decided by coin toss during pool play and higher seed during bracket play.
Teams must use the official USSSA supplied softball. Teams must have the USSSA “thumbprint” on all bats.
Protest fee is $100 and is refundable only if the protest is upheld by the Tournament Director.
In the event of a weather delay the Tournament Director will post updates as well as send text/email to all users subscribed to the Rainout Line. Search Play It Forward Sportz - USSSA. Updates will also be posted on our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Playitforwardsportz/. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the Head Coach to stay in contact with the Tournament Director.
In case of a rain shortened tournament; pool play games can be deemed official after 2 1/2 innings of play (with home team winning) or 45 minutes of elapsed game time. This policy will only be used through pool play.
In the event teams tie going into bracket play teams will be seeded in the bracket or awarded placement by the following: (Once past a tie breaker do not return to previous tie breaker)
1. Winning Percentage – Descending
2. Tied Teams (vs. each other) Winning Pct - Descending (Not valid if all teams have not played each other)
3. Average Runs Allowed - Ascending
4. Average Run Differential with a maximum of 8 - Descending
5. Ranking Points - Descending
6. Date Team Entered USSSA Database
Ties in bracket games will be decided by using the international tie breaker (after time limit or in eighth inning).
There will be a Daily gate fee for the weekend for all spectators over the age of 12. Players and a maximum of 3 coaches will enter free of charge. Coaches will pick up their coaches passes at the main gate of the complex. Additional information will be provided prior to the tournament.
1 day tournaments: 3 game guarantee will be $7, 4 game guarantee will be $10
2 day tournaments: $7 a day on Saturday and Sunday or $12 for a weekend pass
3 day tournaments: $5 for Friday, $7 a day for Saturday and $7 a day for Sunday or $15 for a weekend pass (weekend passes are only available on Friday night)
Seniors and Veterans with proof of eligibility are provided discounted rates.
REFUND POLICY: No refunds will be issued after the tournament deadline or after the tournament schedule is published (whichever comes first). In the event that a tournament is cancelled prior to the start date (not due to weather), by Play It Forward Sportz, a full refund will be issued. We will make every effort to complete the event. We will work with the complexes and field personnel to safely resume play whenever possible, however; weather is out of our control. Gate fees will not be refunded. T-shirt sales will not be refunded after pre-order deadline.
Team schedules are subject to change to ensure completion of the event. It is the responsibility of the teams to check the weather line / website and/or texts for updated game times. DO NOT ASSUME game times will be pushed back based on weather delays from the original schedule as games may be eliminated, shortened or relocated to complete the event.
